Changing Volitional Karma - David Berkowitz (Former 'Son of Sam')The Buddha explained 'karma' as the cause and effect experienced in the mind, body and environment originates from deep within the 'volitional' fabric of the mind. This is the karma that human-beings can 'control' and 'change' through sill-power and changing our behavioural patterns and the manner in which we interact with the external world. Furthermore, once the external circumstances are changed for the better - this can have a positive effect upon the manner in which the inner mind functions. The other type of 'karma' which the Buddha explained is that of 'natural' cause and effect - which lies outside and away from volitional karma and represents disconnected material patterns of unfolding reality which we can do very little about - except create a flexible mind and body that can peacefully 'accommodate' or 'come to terms with'.

Whether this is a genuine conversion or rectification of the personality is a matter of debate. Not everyone agrees that it is - particularly some who interviewed him new the peak of his killing activities. Furthermore, each reader should keep a clear mind and think for themselves when reading the simplistic Christian theology contained within the above page. My point is that even without knowing for sure as to whether there has been a genuine change of heart - David Berkowitz has certainly manipulated circumstances to his benefit.
