The Buddhist Sutra record the Buddha stating that 'meditation' - that is the 'development of the culture of mind-control' - can be established, developed and matured whilst sitting, standing, walking or lying-down. In other words, during any activity a human-being happens to be engaged within. Furthermore, this remains the case regardless of our age, health or physical condition (such as disability or injury, etc). Regardless of what is going on inside and outside the mind - the will-power can be brought to bear upon 'focusing' the concentration, 'stilling' the activity, and 'expanding' the awareness. This is a developmental path that anyone can follow and apply 'here and now'. Its premise is boundless loving kindness and compassion, and its directing attribute is limitless wisdom!
