I recently communicated with Taeko Hunn - the widow of Richard Hunn who lives in Kyoto, Japan. On occasion, Taeko Hunn sends photographs of importance that represent an important aspect of Richard Hunn's life in Japan (1991-2006). Todays's communication involved the fact that every 'October 1st' each year - Taeko Hunn tends to visit the Buddhist Temple on Mount Hiei (比叡山) situated to the Northeast of Kyoto! Richard Hunn passed away on October 1st, 2006 aged 57-years old. He died of cancer whilst sat upright in a Kyoto hospital bed. When he knew his end was near and no amount of Western medicine would save him - he switched to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) - specifically 'qigong' - as this method gave him a sense of 'completion'. In the Buddhist Temple, Taeko Hunn lights incense sticks and places these sticks upon the shrines in front of the statues of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas!
