As of the 7th of January, 2015 - the following British Buddhist organisations are no longer formerly associated with the World Buddhism Association (Argentina) or its subsidiaries:
1) Richard Hunn Association for Ch'an Study (RHACS) UK
2) International Ch'an Buddhism Institute (ICBI) UK
3) Ch'an Dao Martial Arts Association (CDMAA) UK
4) Buddhist-Marxism Alliance (UK) - BMA (UK)
This means that none of the above named UK based Buddhist organisations are active members of, supporters of, or participants in - any of the following WBA initiatives:
a) Maitreya Buddhist University (MBU)
b) International Maitriyana Association (IMA)
c) Shangri La Buddhist University (SLBU)
Any members of the above named British based Buddhist groups who study through the WBA (and who wish to continue their association with that group) are advised to make alternative arrangements with the WBA. This decision is premised entirely upon creative differences that have come to light through a one year dialogue with the WBA. The heads of the above British Buddhist groups have decided that an independent position free of the political constraints associated with world Buddhist movements, best fulfils their respective objectives and directions. In the case of the ICBI (Beijing Office) - there is concurrence with the ICBI (UK Office) that Master Xu Yun (1840-1959) would prefer a direct emphasis upon the realisation of the empty mind ground, rather than an involvement in worldly affairs that have the potential to mislead practitioners, and cloud the mind.
