Master Xu Yun: No Difference Between a Monk and a Lay-Person!
Please find attached a 'new' ICBI translation. This present a 'Dharma-Talk' given by Master Xu Yun during May, 1955. This is the first time this information has been presented in the West and represents a number of different sides to Master Xu Yun's personal character. It is remarkable how Master Xu Yun - a celibate monk who had never participated in any amorous activity during his 115-years (in 1955) - possessed such an acute awareness of the dynamics of loving relationships between men and women. This existed within the context of his rejection of the importance of material life - seeing the mundane world of 'status' as being contrived, superficial and passing!
