Sichuan: Community of Buddhist Nuns!

The Buddhist monastic "empties" the mind and body of all obscuration (klesa) through the correct application of the Vinaya Discipline and the Bodhisattva Vows. This is comprised of seated meditation, Ritual, Sutra-Study, Chanting, Dharma-Discussion (Combat) and Physical Labour (icluding working within the local lay community - relieving suffering for humans and animals). Lay-people (Sangha) can apply the Vinaya Discipline and Bodhisattva Vows to a level and intensity that suits their daily lives and circumstances (often excluding celibacy) - wheres ordained monastics (Maha-Sangha) have no choice but to uphold the highrst standards (including strict celibacy). Indeed, a lay-person can realise full Enlightenment providing the right conditions are present. A well-directed mind can "punch-through" all layers of delusion - with the act of seated meditation forming a "door-way" to another (empty) dimension of being.
